Cheeseburger Smash Tacos

Picture our famous OKC-style Smashburger in taco form and you get a Cheeseburger Smash Taco. This recipe is in regular rotation for some of our team and the perfect bite at your next tailgate. Makes 6 tacos.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb CF Ground Beef
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Small-size flour tortillas
  • 1/2 a white onion, thinly sliced
  • 6 slices of your preferred cheese
  • Smashburger Sauce (store bought or homemade)
  • 1 head iceberg lettuce, shredded
  • 2 tomatoes, diced
  • Bread & butter pickles
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Oil for cooking

Instructions

In a medium bowl combine the ground beef and garlic powder. Season generously with salt and pepper and mix to thoroughly combine.

Using a fork, scoop a generous amount of beef onto a tortilla and spread into a flat layer that reaches the edges of the tortilla. Press a few thinly sliced onions into the beef. Repeat with remaining tortillas.

Oil a griddle or pan over medium heat, and cook the tacos, meat side down, using a press or a large flat spatula to prevent the meat from shrinking too much. Cook for 5 minutes or until meat is nicely browned and flip to briefly cook the tortilla. Top with cheese while still on the griddle. Move the tacos to a serving platter and top with burger sauce, lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles.

Serve with plenty of napkins, these are juicy!
